The 488 brought turbocharging back to Ferrari’s mid-engine V8. The GTB, Spider, Pista and Pista Spider are four different price points, and 2026 sales moved the Spider and Pista well above their long-run medians.

Figures are US sales in US dollars from our sold-price data. Each version is priced separately; a median is shown only where there are at least 3 sales. Mileage is shown only where it was stated in miles.

What to check when buying

  • Ask whether the Ferrari maintenance program and any warranty extension transfer to you, and get the dealer service history.
  • On a Pista, check the carbon wheels for curb damage.
  • Pista lookalikes: a GTB with Pista bodywork won’t have the Pista model code or window sticker.

Spotting fakes, clones and conversions

  • VIN format. A US-market VIN has 17 characters under federal rules (49 CFR Part 565). On a Ferrari it starts ZFF; positions 4-5 carry the model code, position 10 the model year and position 11 the plant. It looks like ZFF__xxA_x0______. Check that the model code matches the car being sold; a lookalike body on a lesser car won’t have the right code.
  • Ferrari Classiche. Cars 20 or more years old can be certified by Ferrari Classiche, which checks the car against its original specification (Ferrari Classiche certification). Ferrari says the certificate is available for road cars over 20 years old and for Special Series models. A missing certificate isn’t proof of a problem; a refused one is a red flag.
  • Window sticker and original order. These confirm the gearbox, carbon options, stripes and seats as built.
  • Manual conversions. F1-to-manual conversions exist. A factory manual car’s build records show the manual gearbox; a converted car’s don’t. We keep conversions out of our manual and F1 medians. See factory gated manual vs conversion.
  • Hard-to-fake items. Chassis stamp matching the VIN plate, engine number on the build records, and model-specific bumpers, louvres and diffusers.
