Is the Weissach Package worth paying for on a 991.2 GT3 RS? Shoppers weighing a GT3 RS Weissach vs normal spec want to know how much of the $18,000 factory option shows up in used prices.

On US sales, mileage explains more of the price than the package does. The data is thin, and we'll say where. But a high-mile Weissach car doesn't earn a Weissach premium.

Figures are US sales in US dollars from our Porsche 991.2 GT3 RS Buyer's Report, priced as of October 16, 2026. Sources are named at the end.

What is the 991.2 GT3 RS Weissach Package?

The 991.2 GT3 RS was sold in the US as a MY2019 car: a 4.0-liter flat-six with 520 hp, PDK only. Porsche Newsroom lists 0–60 mph in 3.0 seconds and a 3,153 lb curb weight. It cost $187,500 new in the US, per Carscoops.

The Weissach Package was an $18,000 option, reported by Stuttcars and Car and Driver. The $13,000 magnesium wheels required it. Northwest European, a US specialist dealer, and VIN Analytics' build records both put US deliveries at 1,462. Porsche publishes no count.

One important point: the VIN alone doesn't show the package. Confirm it from the window sticker or Porsche build sheet, option code 808.

What does a 991.2 GT3 RS sell for?

From our GT3 RS (991.2) report, US sales in US dollars, priced as of October 16, 2026:

Version Opening offer Target Walk-away Sales (24 mo)
Weissach Package $228,400 $261,400 $290,700 10
No Weissach Package (confirmed) not priced 3

Ten Weissach sales in 24 months is enough for a target, but with only 7 in the last 12 months the report flags it as thin. Only three confirmed non-Weissach cars sold, too few for a target. Five more sales from 2024 to 2026, at $208,500 to $325,000, are left out of both groups because the sale record didn't confirm whether the car had the package.

Weissach cars: mileage moves the price

The 2026 Weissach sales tell the story:

  • Two cars under 1,000 miles brought $295,002 and $297,727.
  • A 13,181-mile car brought $229,000 in January.
  • A 29,000-mile car brought $229,000 in March.
  • A 31,000-mile car brought $200,000 in July. Its listing disclosed history-report damage records from 2021 and 2022.

Across the four 2026 Weissach cars at 13,000 to 31,000 miles, prices ran $200,000 to $278,000. Over 24 months, the four Weissach cars at 20,000 miles and up sold for $200,000 to $278,000, and the four under 10,000 miles for $237,500 to $297,727.

Three of the four 2026 cars at 13,000 to 31,000 miles sold for $229,000 or less. That is below the $261,400 Weissach target and below every confirmed non-Weissach sale.

Non-Weissach cars

All three confirmed non-Weissach sales were in 2026, and all were low-mile cars:

  • $280,000 at 1,700 miles (October)
  • $243,000 at 6,000 miles (July)
  • $271,000 at 6,000 miles (June)

That's a $271,000 median at 1,700 to 6,000 miles.

Compare like with like. At similar low miles, the two Weissach cars under 1,000 miles brought $295,002 and $297,727, which is $15,002 to $54,727 more than the non-Weissach cars. That fits some premium for the package on a low-mile car. But five sales don't measure it, and the report says so.

Is the Weissach Package worth paying for?

Put the two facts together:

  1. On a low-mile car, the package may carry a premium, but the sample is too small to say how much.
  2. On a car with 13,000 or more miles, Weissach cars sold for $200,000 to $278,000 in 2026, and three of the four went for less than the cheapest low-mile non-Weissach car ($243,000).

So don't pay extra for Weissach on a car with 20,000 or more miles. Price that car on its miles. Pay near the $261,400 target only for a low-mile Weissach car with its window sticker and a clean over-rev printout.

Why you need the over-rev printout

Porsche's Technical Information 0335 (12/13, revised March 21, 2024) names the 911 GT3 RS from model year 2014. The DME stores ignition counts in each over-rev range and the engine hours at the last event. On a six-range log, ranges 1 and 2 mean engine damage possible, 3 and 4 probable, and 5 and 6 mean damage has generally occurred. The bulletin gives no rpm figures, so have a Porsche dealer or GT specialist read the counts.

Porsche uses this log to evaluate Porsche Approved warranty entitlement. Damage linked to over-revs can't be repaired under warranty or goodwill. A refusal to provide the printout is a red flag. The same bulletin covers the 991 GT3; our 991.1 vs 991.2 GT3 comparison explains the ranges there.

Can a 991.2 GT3 RS get a Porsche warranty?

The 991.2 GT3 RS is past its 4-year, 50,000-mile new-car warranty. Porsche Approved CPO is still possible: dealers accept the current model year plus 13 earlier ones, under 124,000 miles, after a 111-point inspection. CPO gives 2 years, unlimited miles. A car with gaps in its records or a bad over-rev log may not pass, and then it has no factory warranty route.

How much do GT3 RS carbon-ceramic brakes cost?

If the car has carbon-ceramic (PCCB) brakes, check the discs. Repasi Motorwerks notes rotor cracking with track use. Genuine replacement parts at US Porsche dealer parts sites:

  • Front rotors: $10,397.71 each
  • Rear rotor set: $27,900
  • Pads: $1,085.99 front, $949.99 rear

That's about $50,700 in parts before labor. If inspection finds the rotors worn, ask for that off the price. Competition Motorsport lists aftermarket iron front rotors (Girodisc) at $1,950 per front pair as an alternative.

What else to check before you buy

  • Oil at the engine and gearbox joint, a sign of rear-main-seal leaks, which Repasi says are common after track use.
  • Proof of PDK fluid, differential fluid and brake-fluid service.
  • Recall 19V875000 (owner's-manual child-seat supplement) closed on a dealer printout.
  • An honest track history, with brake and fluid records.
  • NMVTIS, NICB VINCheck and a history report. Of the 13 comparable US sales since 2020 behind the report, one disclosed an accident and none stated a clean history.

A pre-purchase inspection for 911 GT cars is $649 at Vehicle Inspectors.

What about the 991.1 GT3 RS?

If the 991.2 is out of reach, the 991.1 GT3 RS (MY2016, 500 hp, PDK) has its own report. It had 11 US sales in 24 months, with a $240,000 target, a $221,000 opening offer and a $270,000 walk-away. It wasn't part of the GT3 engine campaigns, so the over-rev printout is the main engine check there too.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if a GT3 RS has the Weissach Package?

The VIN alone doesn't show it. Confirm option code 808 on the window sticker or Porsche build sheet.

How much did the Weissach Package cost new?

It was an $18,000 factory option in the US, and the $13,000 magnesium wheels required it.

Does a high-mile Weissach car sell for more?

Not on 2026 US sales. Three of the four Weissach cars at 13,000 to 31,000 miles sold for $229,000 or less, below every confirmed non-Weissach sale.

The bottom line

The Weissach Package matters less than the odometer. Confirm option code 808 on the window sticker, get the over-rev printout, and price the car on its miles. On a car with 20,000 or more miles, don't pay for the package.
