What to look for
Known issues
- Weak original clutch. The factory clutch is weak and the tall reverse gear speeds wear; failure as early as 20,000 miles per Car and Driver, up to 40,000 with care per Autocar. Sources: Car and Driver, Autocar, Magneto
- Sportshift automated manual. Aston Martin's own 2017 service bulletin (filed with NHTSA) says some SportShift clutches were replaced unnecessarily. It sets out a diagnosis routine, a cold-start clutch-learn process (wait about eight seconds before selecting a gear) and a readable clutch wear index. Sources: NHTSA
